There is a story about an elephant that was tied to a small stake with a thin rope. People often wonder why the elephant doesn't try to break free.
The reason is simple.
When the elephant was young, it tried many times to break the rope, but it couldn’t. After trying again and again, it eventually gave up.
Years later, the elephant had grown much bigger and stronger. It was now strong enough to easily break the rope. But it didn’t try anymore.
Its body had changed, but its belief had not. It still believed, “I can’t do it.”
Sometimes, we are just like that elephant.
We fail a few times, and then we start believing that we will always fail. We forget that we have grown, learned, and become stronger since then. Our limiting beliefs keep us stuck.
Just because something didn’t work in the past doesn’t mean it won’t work today.
Maybe the rope isn't as strong as we think. Maybe we just need to try one more time.
So, don’t let your past stop you from trying again. You are much stronger than you think.
And remember, as Jennifer Ho said,
"You are only as limited as your beliefs."
Never lose hope. Keep trying, because one day, you might finally break the rope you once believed you never could.
