Impossible Is Just Another Word in the Dictionary

You can win. Nothing is impossible to a willing heart and a determined mind.

Many things that we are using commonly today were once considered impossible. Many scientific inventions were once considered impossible. The technology we are using today, was once just a dream. Similarly, what appears to be impossible today can turn into a reality tomorrow.

Therefore, never be overconfident that something cannot be done or accomplished, and never underestimate anyone. Times change, and so does everything around us. Things can turn around so quickly, it's unimaginable. The winds may shift while you're still adjusting your sails.

Something very similar happened in the 1983 Cricket World Cup, when India entered the World Cup tournament as underdogs and emerged as world champions.

Everyone was confident enough that India stood no chance of winning the World Cup. People even considered that even if India won a match or two, that would be enough for India to save their face before returning home. Such an outcome would be considered a good reward for India. Everyone was sure that it was impossible for the underdogs Indian team to win.

Yet, there was one man, the Indian skipper Kapil Dev, who had different plans. He held a belief contrary to all others. He believed in winning, not winning a few matches, but winning the World Cup. For him, nothing less will do. He started instilling the same belief in his team members.

"Believe you can, and you're halfway there." — Theodore Roosevelt

India made their intentions very clear in the first match, where they won against the two-time world champions, West Indies. India then went on winning some matches and losing some, but Kapil Dev's mindset remained fixed on claiming the World Cup title—and the rest is history.

India went on to win their final match against the mighty and formidable West Indies. India became the world champions, and all of this was possible because of a dream and belief, as well as the courage, commitment, grit, passion, determination, and hard work of the Indian cricket team.

It also reminds me of the very famous story of David and Goliath, in which the shepherd boy David goes on to win the battle against the giant Goliath.

It proves that nothing is impossible if you have a strong belief and determination. Nothing is impossible if you are willing to do the work and put in the effort.

No one can defeat you, unless you let yourself be defeated.

Dare to dream, keep believing that you can win, put in the work and have faith. Victory will be yours for sure.

Do not care about what other people say or think. Do not be discouraged by minor losses and failure. Keep moving forward. Always remember, a loser only loses once, but a winner keeps losing until he wins.
